Membership of the Portsmouth and Hampshire Art Society could kick-start your creativity with like minded people from your local area
There are many benefits of taking up membership of an art society. PHAS (Portsmouth & Hampshire Art Society) was established over 100 years ago and we are still going strong. We have over one hundred members but we welcome you if you would like to get involved.
Our society is made up of both amateur and professional artists who span all disciplines of the visual arts. We are proud to welcome and be inclusive to all those interested in following their own creative path whether they enjoy drawing, painting or sculpture.
You can get involved with our varied events calendar which includes talks and demonstrations as well as our weekly term-time art group. Membership also allows you to exhibit at our annual Summer Exhibition held at Portsmouth Cathedral.
What options are available to join PHAS?
We have two categories of membership: Associate and Full
- Associate Member - Annual Fee: £17
- Full Member - Annual Fee: £20
People new to PHAS join as Associate Members and may submit up to four works for our Summer Exhibition. Associate Members are considered for Full Membership following their first year and after entering four paintings in the Summer Exhibition. Full members may enter up to 6 paintings into the Summer Exhibition.

To join the Society please complete and submit the form below and transfer the sum of £17 to the Society's Lloyds bank account (Account Name: Portsmouth and Hampshire Art Society, Sort Code: 30-93-97 Account Number: 01199396) quoting reference 'NMyour name'

How to pay for your annual member fee:
Annual member fees are due by the end of March which is the renewal date.
Pay by Bank Transfer (BACS) - details as shown above. If you have pay by BACS, please notify our Treasurer (Liz Winder) by e-mail (elizabethwinder@icloud.com).
