CEZANNE, TREES AND ME: A WORKSHOP BY ED WOODROFFE.
Please bring your favourite dry drawing materials and paper. Textured paper, A3 or A4, of no less than 140gm is preferred. Pencils, Graphite and Chacoal should be 3B or greater. Colour materials may be any grade. If you prefer to work digitally, please do bring your iPad and Apple Pencil (Procreate is the preferred App) or Tablet and Digital Pen. Please note that if you do bring an iPad or Tablet, it must be fully charged beforehand as chargingbis limited and you should be confident and fluent in using it as there will not be time for sorting technical issues or offering digital tuition on this occasion.
This is not a straightforward drawing tuition session! In the first half I'll be discussing how your own work can be influenced by multi media factors that will enhance your observation skills and technical abilities. For this I'll be showing you the example of how the work of Paul Cezanne and other creative individuals have shaped many of my own ideas on art practice and I will be revealing a new body of my personal work that puts these ideas into practice.
In the second half we will break out the drawing materials and have fun.

Using Coloured Pencils - Jane Pooley

Here is what Jane says:
"When you think of art- the main media that come to mind are paints - acrylics, oils, watercolours etc., but in Lockdown I decided to do some drawing - I found my childrens' old coloured pencils and it ignited something in me!
The average A4 drawing takes 20-30 hours.
At this demo I won't be sitting drawing but I will bring examples of work, different paper types and all my pencils (700). If you want to have a go, I will set up a little project to try - a human eye."
